Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about ordering, wearing and caring for Shrim Studio oxidised jewellery.

Ordering

How do I place an order?

Message @shrim_studio on Instagram or email shrimstudio51@gmail.com with the piece you’d like — a screenshot is perfect. We’ll confirm availability, price and delivery details personally.

Can I see more photos or videos of a piece?

Yes. Ask us on Instagram or by email and we’ll share more views so you can see the detail and finish before you decide.

Do you help with gifting?

Yes. Share the occasion, the person’s style and your budget, and we’ll suggest neckpieces, earrings, kadas or rings to match.

How do I ask about delivery to my city?

Include your city or PIN code in your message and we’ll share delivery options and timelines for your order.

Our jewellery

What is oxidised jewellery?

Oxidised jewellery has a silver surface that is deliberately darkened, so the recessed details look deep and the raised areas stay bright. This creates the antique, handcrafted look associated with Indian traditional jewellery.

What is Shrim Studio jewellery made of?

Shrim Studio creates silver-plated oxidised jewellery. If you have a question about a specific piece, ask us before ordering and we’ll share the details.

What collections does Shrim offer?

Four categories: neckpieces, earrings, kadas and rings — from statement pieces to everyday favourites.

Will each piece look exactly like the photo?

Oxidised finishes naturally vary slightly from piece to piece, which is part of their character. Ask us for a current photo if you’d like to see the exact piece.

Care

How do I care for oxidised jewellery?

Keep it away from water, perfume, sanitiser and lotions. Wipe it with a soft dry cloth after wearing and store each piece separately in an airtight pouch or zip bag.

Can I clean or polish oxidised jewellery?

Avoid silver polish, dips and polishing cloths — they strip away the darkened finish that gives the piece its character. A soft dry cloth is all it needs.

Can I wear oxidised jewellery every day?

Yes. Put it on last, after perfume and skincare, and take it off before bathing, swimming, exercise or sleep so it keeps its finish for longer.

Why is my jewellery changing colour?

Moisture, sweat and air can change the tone of the finish over time. Dry storage in an airtight pouch slows this down.

Sizing & styling

How do I find my ring size?

Measure the inner diameter of a ring that fits you well, or wrap a strip of paper around your finger and measure its length. Share the measurement and we’ll help.

How do I find my kada or bangle size?

Measure the inner diameter of a bangle that fits comfortably and include it in your message.

What do I wear oxidised jewellery with?

Cotton and handloom sarees, kurtas, Indo-western outfits, and even a white shirt with denim. One statement piece is often all an outfit needs.

Is oxidised jewellery good for festivals and weddings?

Yes. A statement neckpiece or a stack of kadas works beautifully for Navratri, Diwali, mehendi and other celebrations, especially with cotton, silk and handloom textiles.
